What We Build

Custom Pools, Spas &
Water Features

Every project is designed from scratch for your backyard, your lifestyle, and your vision. We build three things, and we build them right.

01

Custom Concrete & Gunite Pools

Every pool we build is a fully custom concrete or gunite structure, engineered specifically for your property and designed to last 50+ years in Michigan's freeze-thaw climate. No prefabricated shells. No standard shapes. Your pool is built from the ground up to your exact specifications.

We build freeform pools, geometric pools, lap pools, zero-entry beach entries, tanning ledges, built-in benches, and custom depth profiles. Whether you want a 12-foot deep end for diving or a gradual slope for wading, the design is entirely yours.

Spas & Hot Tubs

A custom-built spa extends your pool season and adds a level of luxury that prefabricated hot tubs cannot match. Our spas are constructed with the same concrete and gunite methods as our pools, fully integrated into your pool's design, plumbing, and equipment system.

We build spillover spas that cascade into your pool, raised spas with decorative stone facades, standalone hydrotherapy spas, and dual-temperature configurations that let you run the spa independently from the pool.

Water Features

Water features bring movement, sound, and visual interest to your pool. They transform a static body of water into a living environment. Every feature we install is integrated into your pool's plumbing and equipment system during construction for seamless, reliable operation.

Whether you want the dramatic cascade of a natural rock waterfall, the clean lines of a sheer descent, or the playful energy of deck jets, each feature is designed to complement your pool's overall aesthetic.

Why Custom

Concrete & Gunite vs. Everything Else

There are three types of inground pools: concrete/gunite, fiberglass, and vinyl liner. Here is why concrete and gunite is the right choice for homeowners who want a pool built to last.

Complete Design Freedom

Fiberglass pools come in pre-molded shapes. Vinyl liners are limited by the steel or polymer wall kit. Concrete and gunite pools are built from scratch in any shape, size, depth, or configuration you can imagine.

50+ Year Lifespan

A properly built concrete pool structure lasts 50 years or more. Fiberglass shells can crack and shift. Vinyl liners need replacement every 7 to 12 years. The concrete shell is essentially permanent.

Built for Michigan Winters

Our pools are engineered for Michigan's freeze-thaw cycles. Proper steel reinforcement, curing, and backfill techniques ensure the shell handles temperature extremes without cracking or shifting.

Higher Property Value

A custom concrete pool adds 5-7% to your home's value on average. In premium suburban markets like Oakland County, the return can be even higher. Concrete pools are viewed as permanent improvements, not temporary features.

Service Questions

Frequently Asked

Gunite is a specific method of applying concrete. A dry mix of cement and sand is sprayed at high pressure over a steel rebar framework, with water added at the nozzle. This produces a denser shell than traditional poured concrete. Both methods create fully custom, durable pools. Easton Pools builds with both techniques depending on what best suits the project.

In most cases, yes. A spillover spa or standalone spa can be added to an existing pool, though it requires excavation, plumbing modifications, and structural work. The best approach is to schedule a consultation so we can assess your existing pool and property.

Custom water features include natural rock waterfalls, sheer descent waterfalls, bubblers, deck jets, scuppers, rain curtains, and spillover spa features. All water features are integrated into the pool's plumbing and equipment system during construction for seamless operation.

A properly built concrete or gunite pool structure can last 50 years or more. The interior finish, whether plaster, pebble, or quartz, will need to be resurfaced every 7 to 20 years depending on the material selected. The concrete shell itself is essentially permanent.
